Derby Day Comes to DC

We love hosting our annual derby festivities to celebrate what the Kentucky Derby is famous for… the horses, the hats, and of course, the booze. 

Come join us at Founding Farmers DC to salute America’s Greatest Race from April 29th through May 5th.

We’re serving up some fine derby-centric cocktails, all made with our very own Founding Spirits American Whiskey. Order our whiskey all on its own for $12, served neat or over hand-cut ice. Or enjoy our traditional Mint Julep creations. Our FS Julep, at just $13, is a great blend of our Founding Spirits American Whiskey, mint, and FS aromatic bitters. And our “Never Bitter” Julep, for $14, mixes our Founding Spirits American Whiskey and mint, topped with our deliciously smooth, Founding Spirits American Amaro.

Our bar team is in the derby spirit not only with our handcrafted cocktails, but they are also hosting a very special Tasting & Distillery Open House on Friday, May 3^rd from 5pm-7pm, where you’ll get a mini behind the scenes tour of our distillery. 

It doesn’t end there. Tell your friends, family, and colleagues… if ordering a bottle (or two) of our FS American Whiskey online during our weeklong derby celebration, you and yours will receive 10% off the purchase and receive a complimentary Founding Spirits copper Julep cup, while supplies last.

And when you get hungry for some scratch-made food to pair with your whiskey or Julep choices, our full Founding Farmers DC lunch & dinner menu will be on hand in the restaurant. If you’re closer to Massachusetts Avenue or Capitol One Arena or Chinatown, come by our sibling restaurant, Farmers & Distillers, located right in the heart of in downtown DC’s Mt Vernon Square neighborhood. We’ll be celebrating derby day our way there all week too!
