It has been another exciting year partnering and raising awareness about honey bees with Sweet Virginia! Sweet Virginia, located nearby in Nokesville, VA, is a non-profit organization with a mission to inspire and educate children about the lifecycle of honey bees and the critical role they play in pollinating plants, fruits, and vegetables, and the overall positive (and much needed!) impact they have on our environment.

Exciting news for Farmers Restaurant Group! We are thrilled to announce the newest addition to our collection of farmer-owned restaurants, Farmers & Distillers (600 Massachusetts Avenue), is set to open in November of 2016!

One of DC’s most buzzed about summer events is right around the corner: Restaurant Week. Each year, participating restaurants welcome guests to not only enjoy specialized lunch and dinner menus, but to also create a memorable experience for all.

Our Founding Farmers Proprietary line of Beverages is growing! Introducing Virginia Vines Rosé. A lovely, light rosé handcrafted in Madison, VA by our very own Beverage Director Jon Arroyo in conjunction with the talented team of vintners at Early Mountain Vineyards, Virginia Vines Rosé is meant to be enjoyed as an accompaniment to our Founding Farmers food or all on its own.

The planet matters, so find ways to do more good and less harm. A mantra that filters through all we do. Our food comes from American family farms and purveyors we trust, and is cooked from scratch every day.

Kudos to our team at Founding Famers Tysons for their Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification! The FFT team worked closely with the LEED specialists through all phases of building, design, and development in order to meet their goal of certification signifying that FFT is a leader in and active participant of the green building movement.

Our Founding Farmers Tysons team was thrilled to host a local, Virginia-area Girl Scout troop recently and swap stories and insight on farmer-owned restaurant concept development and the life of busy, engaging, interested teenage Girl Scouts!

How we love our sweet partnership with Cornell University’s Maple Program! Our partnership began in 2014, out of a conversation in our kitchen about a forest in upstate New York and our ongoing Farmers Restaurant Group (FRG) efforts of not only bringing the best product we can to all our Founding Farmers restaurant tables and hence our guests, but also our continuing commitment to sustainable ingredients.

Our MoCo’s Founding Farmers team has created a special Wine & Dine event series, and we’d love for you to join us! Next up is our second Wine & Dine event will take place on Monday, June 6th at 7pm at MoCo’s Founding Farmers in Potomac, MD.
