Erik Martinez

Dishwasher → Executive Chef

Chef Erik joined Farmers Restaurant Group as a dishwasher. His passion for cooking soon led him to line cook at Founding Farmers DC. Determined to learn every aspect of the culinary world, Chef Erik took on every job he could, working closely with line cooks, prep cooks, sous chefs, and executive chefs, who cross-trained him in his free time.

He set his sights on becoming a leader in the kitchen and, after proving his skills and dedication, Chef Erik was promoted to Sous Chef. He continued to grow his expertise working at several other Founding Farmers locations. Today, he serves as an Executive Chef for the company and oversees kitchen operations, including food and labor costs, food quality, and health & sanitation practices. A hardworking leader, Chef Erik continues to inspire his team to pursue knowledge and excellence in the kitchen.

“Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a chef," says Chef Erik. "I feel proud for the work I have done and lucky for the opportunities for growth I've been given at Founding Farmers Restaurant Group.”

Meaghan O'Shea

Meaghan O’Shea

Front Desk Coordinator → Vice President, Marketing & Communications

Since joining FRG in 2008, Meaghan has tackled every job with tenacity, enthusiasm, confidence, and smarts. As the company has grown, so too has Meaghan’s role, or should we say… her many roles. Her trajectory reads like a lesson in how to succeed in the restaurant business.

She started as a front desk coordinator when we opened our first restaurant. Her career path moved steadily through to front desk manager to bar manager to senior service manager to general manager. But she didn’t stop there. Transitioning out of operations, Meaghan became the company’s marketing & communications manager. She grew in this role to director, and now serves the vice president of our growing marketing & communications team.

“I said in my initial interview that I didn’t want to become a general manager, but what kept me around was that I loved the people I worked with," says Meaghan. "I had found a team that I knew was just as invested in me as I was in them. I truly love the work I do and the people I get to work with.”

Part of our Founding Farmers Restaurant Group family since we opened our doors in 2008, Paris arrived ready to jump right in at Founding Farmers DC and made her mark from day one. Whether working on our busy service floors, serving up our award-winning cocktails as a bartender, heading up our front of house as general manager, and supporting human resources and operations across all our restaurants, Paris has proven to be a steady force and integral part of our team.

“One of the most important aspects of working in the hospitality industry,” says Paris, “is balancing the needs of the business with the needs of our people. Making sure the team feels happy and appreciated every day is always our end goal. A positive environment transfers into a welcoming, consistent experience for our guests, and one where they want to come back to again and again.”
